I got my numbers crunched and started my sweater for NaKniSweMo last night - twice. On the first start I didn't get my increases sorted out correctly. But I have 2 1/2 inches done, with a total of 4 1/2 inches needed before I join it in the round.
A top-down sweater starts with many fewer cast-on stitches, 61 here, since you're just working around the back neck and tops of the shoulders, but you do have both raglan increases and front neckline increases to set up. Mine happen at different intervals bacause I'm doing a scoop neck.
Though, despite the truely scoop-neck plan, I have taken to calling this project my Motley Crew-neck Sweater since the yarn color is Motley Hue.
We'll see how much I get done tonight. I'm about to jump in the shower before I head out to stand in a (likely) long line to vote. (VOTE, if you haven't.) This evening we have reservations at a jazz club to see the first US tour of Martin Taylor, sometimes referred to as 'the spirit of Django' in case you're into Gypsy jazz guitar. Then we plan to go watch election results at a Basque tapas bar. We may be up too late and have too much wine to allow for increases that follow any kind of plan.
